Both ENDS’ main objective is to achieve sustainable livelihoods and social justice in the so-called South (developing countries). The organisation believes Southern Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) play a key role in realizing this. The strengthening of and direct cooperation with these CSOs is therefore the centre of Both ENDS’ work.
Core activities include: networking; exchanging expertise; mediating in fundraising; supporting campaigns; research; lobby and capacity building. The main areas of work are: sustainable land use, water management and capital flows. Focus within this last topic is on sustaining and widening political space for CSOs towards international policy making on capital flows, related to environmental and social issues.
Both ENDS is a member of the Steering Committee of Jubilee Netherlands. Also it is an active member of the international ECA-Watch network. Both ENDS focuses on the issue of export credit debt. It cooperated with Eurodad and ECA-Watch to release a joint political statement on this issue.
