What we do

Communication is at the heart of Eurodad’s activities. Obtaining and circulating information from members, other NGOs, official bodies, the media and academia is a key task. As is identifying who is doing what so that relevant people can be put in touch with each other, be invited to relevant meetings, etc. Some information is available to members and key Southern contacts only, but most information is available through this site and through our bi-weekly electronic newsletter.

Throughout the year Eurodad organises strategy meetings, public meetings and advocacy meetings. Once every 2 years, in collaboration with one of its members, Eurodad holds its international conference. This is a key moment for relevant policy analysts and campaigners to discuss ideas and plans for the coming period. While Eurodad’s members do the majority of campaigning and advocacy, Eurodad staff also undertake direct advocacy towards European governments and relevant institutions such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

More information about Eurodad’s approach to the issues it works on, and the activities of its members, is available in the relevant site sections. An external evaluation of Eurodad’s work between 2007 and 2010 was published in May 2010. This was very positive, and also contained suggestions that Eurodad is implementing. Eurodad is also part of several international networks and collaborations. These include Reality of Aid, BetterAid, IFIwatchnet, EuroIFInet, the International Facilitation Team for the Campaign on Illegitimate Debt, and the Task Force on Financial Integrity.
