Tove Maria Ryding, Policy and Advocacy Manager at Eurodad, spoke on Monday, 2 March 2015, as part of the workshop Tax avoidance and tax evasion in developing countries held by the European Parliament Committee on Development (DEVE).
The workshop was organised as part of the preparation process for a report on Tax avoidance and tax evasion as challenges for governance, social protection and development in developing countries by MEP Elly Schlein. The report will enable the European Parliament to express its view on the issues of tax avoidance and tax evasion in time for the Third International Conference on Financing for Development in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 13-16 July 2015.
The first panel of the workshop was designed to take stock of the current situation and its impact on developing countries while the second panel, which Tove Maria Ryding took part in, explored solutions and policy recommendations.
