Eurodad was well represented at the European Development Days
in Brussels - the annual two-day gathering of the development and sustainability world.
Policy and Advocacy Manager Jeroen Kwakkenbos joined a panel debate
on "Public Private Engagement in the GPEDC – Fit for partnering?". Other speakers included Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, Chair of the OECD Development Assistance Committee and Klaus Rudischhauser, Deputy DG at DG Devco. There was general agreement - and applause from the audience - when Jeroen pointed out that social and human rights must be protected when private finance gets involved in development.
Eurodad was in action the same day when Tove Maria Ryding chaired a lively panel discussion
on "Tax justice for development". Speakers included Luckystar Miyandazi and Martin Brehm Christensen from Eurodad partner ActionAid, as well as representatives from the IMF and DG Devco. An interactive audience poll
showed clearly what the audience thought of EU action on tax reform.
